Requirements
The tenant must live in an eligible USDA Rural Development multifamily property affected by a qualifying event, be offered a voucher, and satisfy response, unit, lease, inspection, and continued-eligibility rules.
How to activate
Respond to the USDA voucher notice within the stated period, complete the tenant forms, and coordinate unit approval and lease documentation with the voucher administrator.
Cost basis
Subsidized or partially covered. A government, nonprofit, employer, insurer, scholarship, or other sponsor pays some or all eligible costs; the user's remaining amount depends on the award and program rules.
Cost and fees
No voucher application fee. Tenants remain responsible for their rent share, deposits, utilities, moving costs, and charges not covered by the voucher.
