Requirements: The student must have completed eighth grade, be eligible under Upward Bound rules, demonstrate interest and potential in math or science, and be accepted by a funded local project. At least two-thirds of participants must be both low-income and potential first-generation college students; the remainder must meet at least one of those criteria, with citizenship or qualifying residency, academic need, service-area, age, and project rules also applying.
How to activate: Use the federal TRIO resources or ask a nearby college or school to find a serving Upward Bound Math-Science project, contact it directly, and complete its student application, recommendations or assessment, and income, education, and family-college-history documentation.
Cost basis: No-cost access. The core benefit has no required payment, purchase, deposit, paid membership, or pre-existing paid-product relationship under the captured terms.
