Requirements
The student must be accepted by a local Upward Bound project and meet federal and project participant rules. Projects generally serve students ages 13 through 19 who have completed eighth grade, with at least two-thirds of participants both low-income and potential first-generation college students; citizenship or qualifying federal-aid residency rules and academic need also apply.

Find a serving Upward Bound project through the federal TRIO project directory or a nearby college or school, contact the project directly, and complete its student application and eligibility documentation.
Cost basis
No-cost access. The core benefit has no required payment, purchase, deposit, paid membership, or pre-existing paid-product relationship under the captured terms.
Cost and fees
Participants are not charged for federally funded project services. Admission and specific activities depend on local project capacity, and ordinary college application fees, travel, tuition, or other outside costs may remain unless separately waived or covered.
