The school must participate. Eligibility generally follows annual school-meal income rules, direct certification, categorical eligibility, or a schoolwide no-cost meal provision.
How to activate
Contact the school nutrition office and complete its meal-benefit application unless eligibility is automatic or the school serves breakfast at no charge to all students.
Cost basis
Variable by provider or eligibility. The user's out-of-pocket cost cannot be represented by one fixed amount because it depends on provider policy, income, household, geography, selected service, coverage group, subsidy amount, or the underlying program.
