What it unlocks
Career counseling, skills assessment, occupational or work-based training, education, job placement, and approved supportive services to stabilize or advance agricultural employment or move into another industry; separate grantees support safe permanent and temporary farmworker housing.
Who qualifies
Eligible migrant or seasonal farmworker; Eligible dependent of a migrant or seasonal farmworker
Requirements
Career and training enrollment generally requires qualifying migrant or seasonal agricultural work, dependent or youth status where applicable, low-income or other statutory eligibility, work authorization, Selective Service compliance when required, residence or service-area connection, and local documentation. Housing programs use separate project and occupancy rules.
How to activate
Use the Department of Labor program page and grantee resources or ask an American Job Center for the serving NFJP organization, then complete the local intake, farmwork and income verification, assessment, and individual service plan.
Cost basis
Variable by provider or eligibility. The user's out-of-pocket cost cannot be represented by one fixed amount because it depends on provider policy, income, household, geography, selected service, coverage group, subsidy amount, or the underlying program. It may be free, reduced, sliding-scale, or partly paid.
Cost and fees
Intake and approved career services are free, but training and supportive funds are limited and not automatic. Housing may be subsidized rather than free, and the program does not guarantee tuition coverage, relocation, a housing unit, a credential, or employment.
Geography
US, Local NFJP grantee service areas and funded housing projects
Personalization
Published eligibility is not described as individually targeted.
