Requirements
The participant must meet the serving grantee's Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian identity or descent rules and its adult or youth program criteria, which can include unemployment, low income, age, residence or service area, work authorization, Selective Service, documentation, assessment, and individual-plan requirements.
How to activate
Use the Department of Labor's Indian and Native American Programs resources or an American Job Center to identify the grantee serving the community, then contact that grantee for its application, eligibility documents, assessment, and service plan.
Cost basis
Variable by provider or eligibility. The user's out-of-pocket cost cannot be represented by one fixed amount because it depends on provider policy, income, household, geography, selected service, coverage group, subsidy amount, or the underlying program. It may be free, reduced, sliding-scale, or partly paid.
Cost and fees
Program intake and approved services are generally free, but the service mix, training and supportive funding, participant payments, enrollment windows, and capacity vary by grantee. Tribal enrollment or identity requirements and program participation do not guarantee a job or full education funding.
