Boise VRT Youth Ride Free

Youth age 18 and under can receive unlimited free VRT travel during the 2026 summer Youth Ride Free period, with the pilot designed to return in summer 2027; younger children and eligible Boise high-school students also have standing free-fare routes.

Requirements
Be age 18 or younger, enroll and carry the approved fare medium, travel during the current eligibility dates and service area, and follow route, reservation, Access, validation, expiration, and rider rules.
How to activate
Apply online, at VRT customer service, or at a participating Boise library, obtain the approved pass, and present or validate it when riding.
Cost basis
No-cost access. The core benefit has no required payment, purchase, deposit, paid membership, or pre-existing paid-product relationship under the captured terms.
Cost and fees
Eligible travel is free from May 1 through August 31, 2026; the pilot is planned again for 2027, while excluded dates, services, replacement media, and add-ons may cost extra.
