What it unlocks
Free bus and rail rides for youth age 19 and under, or half-price fares for approved adults age 20 and older with household income at or below the current limit.
Who qualifies
RTD rider age 19 or under; Income-qualified RTD rider age 20 or older
Requirements
For youth, carry accepted age proof; for LiVE, be age 20 or older, meet the current 250%-of-federal-poverty income limit, apply through Colorado PEAK or by phone, and follow current proof, fare, route, card, renewal, and service rules.
How to activate
Youth present accepted proof when requested; adults apply for LiVE, add the approval to MyRide or use an accepted discounted product, and validate each ride.
Cost basis
Variable by provider or eligibility. The user's out-of-pocket cost cannot be represented by one fixed amount because it depends on provider policy, income, household, geography, selected service, coverage group, subsidy amount, or the underlying program. It may be free, reduced, sliding-scale, or partly paid.
Cost and fees
Youth rides are free; LiVE riders pay the discounted fare, while replacement cards, Access-on-Demand, and excluded or optional services may cost extra.
Local federally funded community learning centers provide before-school, after-school, weekend, and summer academic enrichment, youth development, and family education, particularly for students at high-poverty and low-performing schools.
